The next novella in my Tea and Tarot cozy mystery series, Séance and Sensibility, is launching early, on April 30th, to be specific.
Here's what happened.
A website contacted me and asked if I'd like to submit a tearoom mystery novella as a giveaway for their members. All the members could read it, I'd hopefully find new readers, and then I'd get the rights back on October 31st. I agreed and wrote Séance and Sensibility.
But when I tried to submit it last week, I ran into problems, so I emailed them. The email for the woman who'd set up the tearoom mystery giveaway didn't work.
I contacted the company's general website. They responded the next day explaining they hadn't had enough participants, the woman who'd organized it had left the company, and they'd canceled the giveaway. They were very contrite about my not having gotten the word, and as far as I'm concerned, have made things right.
And now... I can publish the book on April 30th instead of November 1st!
This gives me a little more space to edit Whispers of the Witch, the next book in my Mystery School series. I now plan to publish Whispers on June 30th.
Séance and Sensibility
In the beach town of San Borromeo, (patron saint of heartburn suffers), Abigail and Hyperion have brewed more than just the perfect cup of Darjeeling. Their latest endeavor? Hosting a séance for the local Jane Austen fan-fic group in their tea and Tarot room.
But when the candles flicker and plunge the tearoom into darkness, the gathering takes a turn to sense and suspicion. Because when the lights come on, a guest is dead. With Abigail's grandfather at the top of the suspect list, the situation brews into a real problem.
With Abigail's grandfather in the hot seat as a suspect, our amateur detectives must sift through the clues faster than Abigail can pour a cup of Earl Grey. Will they manage to read the signs before the killer serves them their last cup of tea?
Join Abigail and Hyperion in Séance and Sensibility, a new novella in the Tea and Tarot mystery series. In this culinary cozy mystery, only one thing is certain: the truth will be as hard to catch as the perfect Mr. Darcy.
Scone recipe in the back of the book!
