Welcome to another week of odd, strange, and paranormal news! (But mostly paranormal news).
1) Why do we believe in magic? Author Philip Pullman argues it's an essential facet of being human.
3) In another sign that witches are going mainstream, the makeup giant, Sephora, announced it will start offering "entry-level witch kits" starting October 9th. And then, facing backlash about cultural appropriation from the witch community, the company quickly pulled the kit. Anything I say from here on out will probably get me into trouble, so I shall say nothing, witches.
4) Remember that "Florida Man" Twitter feed? It took all the ridiculous news stories starting with "Florida man..." and compiled them so that it read as if Florida Man was some sort of reverse superhero. Anyway, I couldn't help but think of it when I read this story, about a Connecticut man and paranormal investigator who opened fire during a 911 call reporting a break-in. When the cops got there and there was no evidence of the break in, he said it must have been a ghost. Yes, Florida Man, you're off the hook.
